Joining the Brigade

Division 998 comprises mainly of UBC students and alumni as well as many individuals from diverse backgrounds.

To apply for the brigade, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Should be physically and mentally capable of performing the activities that are reasonable for the type of service they are to provide
  • Must hold, as a minimum at the time of enrolment, a valid Standard first aid and Level "C" CPR certificate from a nationally recognized training agency.

Members of the Brigade are required to attend weekly meetings for continued training and announcements. Division 998 meets on Tuesday evenings at the St. John Ambulance Vancouver Branch.

In addition, all active members must volunteer a minimum of 60 hours per year to remain in the Brigade.
